The Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists (ACDIS) was created in the United States in October of 2007 and exists to serve as the premier healthcare community for CDI specialists, providing a medium for education, professional growth, program recognition and networking. Rebecca Hendren, ACDIS Director of Programming, CDI & Revenue Integrity, shares, “ACDIS was born because CDI did not have a home of its own. Over the last 17 years, ACDIS staff and CDI professionals from all backgrounds came together to create rules of practice, guiding documents, templates, and all manner of resources while simultaneously building a welcoming home and a network for all to come together to connect and learn.”
The learning resources on the ACDIS website and in ACDIS PRO are a reflection of universal healthcare. The coding, billing and compliance information is based on the United States healthcare system. Always refer to Canadian resources when it pertains to coding, patient quality and safety metrics, Canadian national health indicators, and Canadian compliance.
